Greater Ninian Area

On the 8th June 2021 Tailwind completed the purchase of Decipher Energy Limited which includes interests in three licences in the Greater Ninian area. Tailwind intends to maximise production from the existing Orlando field (licence P.1606) and assess options for further development of the Senna and Mansell licences (P.2311 and P.2448)

GREATER NINIAN OVERVIEW

The Orlando field is tied back to the Ninian Central production facility operated by Canadian Natural Resources International Ltd (CNRL). The Senna and Mansell developments represent potential upside to the Tailwind Portfolio in this mature area of the Northern North sea.

Orlando

The Orlando Field is located in licence P.1606 (UKCS Block 3/3b), approx. 11 km east of the Ninian Field. Tailwind holds a 100% operated interest in the Orlando Field, which was acquired through the acquisition of Decipher Energy in 2021.
Orlando was discovered in 1989 by well 3/3-11, which encountered a 160ft oil column within a tilted fault block structure in Middle Jurassic Brent Group reservoir sandstones. Appraisal wells 3/3b-13 and 13Z were drilled in 2011/2012 and the single horizontal producer (3/3b-13Y) was completed in 2017.

The Orlando field development consists of a subsea tie-back of the single production well to the CNRI operated Ninian Central Platform. The well is completed with sand screens and dual Electric Submersible Pumps (ESPs), to provide artificial lift. A workover of the existing well is being planned in 2022 to replace one of the failed ESP’s and increase production to an estimated 4-5,000 bopd.

SENNA

The Senna discovery is located in licence P.2311 in UKCS Blocks 3/7c, 3/8c and 3/12 south of the Ninian and Columba fields. Senna was discovered by well 3/7-3 drilled by Chevron in 1977 and has been appraised by wells 3/12-2 and 3/7a-8 proving the presence of oil in a Lower Brent Group reservoir.
The Senna discovery has contingent resources of up to 60 mmboe, with peak production potential from a 3 production well development of 24,000 bopd. Broadband 3D seismic data was acquired in 2018 over Senna to aid in determining the development potential of the field. Studies are ongoing to determine the feasibility and timing of a development.

Tailwind acquired the 100% working interest in licence P.2311 through the acquisition of Decipher Energy in 2021 and is operator of the licence.

Mansell

The Mansell discovery is located in licence P.2448 in UKCS Block 3/8g south and east of the Ninian and Columba fields. Mansell was discovered by well 3/8b-10, drilled by BP in 1985 and following successful appraisal was developed as a subsea tieback to the Ninian South Platform and produced between 1992 and 1995 (Field was then named as Staffa). The field was shut in 1995 following waxing-up of the flowline and decomissioned. The Mansell field has contingent resources of up to 16 mmboe. Studies are ongoing to determine the feasibility and timing of a redevelopment.
Tailwind acquired the 100% working interest in licence P.2311 through the acquisition of Decipher Energy in 2021 and is operator of the licence.
