Steve Edwards: CEO

Biography: Steve Edwards has over 20 years in Upstream Oil & Gas. He started in an operational role with Schlumberger before joining Shell as an explorer working in a variety of international basins and jurisdictions including Australia, Africa and Europe. Steve moved progressively through a number of commercial roles including M&A. Joining Nexen in 2006, Steve became Business Development Manager for Europe expanding Nexen's footprint into Norway and Poland and helping the company become the UK's largest oil producer. After the CNOOC take over of Nexen, Steve became VP for BD, Commercial and Technical for Europe & Africa. Steve left to form Tailwind in 2016.

Education: Steve holds a BSc (Hons) in Geology from St.Andrews University, a PhD in Petroleum Geology from Durham University and a MBA from Cambridge University. Steve also sits on the Advisory Committee for ESCP and is a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN).

Dave Freeman: COO

Biography: Dave has 24 years of upstream E&P experience, including extensive knowledge of the North Sea. He has worked for operators Shell, Woodside and BG Group based in Holland, Australia and UK.  He has primarily worked in technical roles focussed on subsurface understanding of production and development assets. Prior to joining Tailwind, his most recent role was as upstream technical director reporting to the COO of BG Group, covering their global portfolio. David started his career as a reservoir engineer before advancing to management.

Education: Dave holds both a first class BSc degree in Mathematics and a PhD in Engineering from Birmingham University. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Jacques Tohme: CFO

Biography: Jacques has 15 years experience with international energy investing and financing on behalf of banks and private funds based in New York. He has worked on investments for various oil and gas ventures, and participated in the privatisations and IPO of National Oil Companies. Geographic offshore oil experience includes the US and Europe.

Education: Jacques graduated from Columbia University in Engineering and Economics.

Tom Ujejski: Legal

Biography: Tom brings 20 years of transactional and energy sector experience to Tailwind. He is a former Senior Partner at Baker & McKenzie specialising in M&A and Capital Markets. He has also been involved in the energy  sector for 15 years. Initially as co-founder of a renewable energy company in Central Europe and subsequently as founder and Managing Director of North Sea Ventures Ltd, which acquired oil & gas assets in the UKCS.

Education: Tom is a qualified lawyer in England and Wales, as well as Canada; he holds LLM and MBA degrees from Cambridge University. Tom sits on the Advisory Committee of the Cambridge Judge Business School.
